Rockwood has long been a missions-minded church as evidenced by its acceptance of the Acts 1:8 challenge. When a church accepts the Acts 1:8 Challenge, it commits to fulfull Jesus' last
spoken words on earth by taking the gospel to their Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria
and the ends of the earth. It is not enough for us to financially support missions. . .we commit ourselves as well.
Within our vision statement (Connecting People with Chirst and One Another) we step outside of our local fellowship through partnerships with other churches, the St. Louis Association and the Missouri and Southern Baptist Conventions.
In past years, the church has commissioned teams to Brazil, Mexico, Romania, New Orleans, Puerto Rico, and most recently El Salvador. These trips have consisted of evangelism, leader training, teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, construction, Vacation Bible School assistance, humanitarian aid, and disaster relief. We also embrace sponsoring local new church plants.
We ask those that partner with us as members or friends be true ministers in their willingness to obey God by praying, sharing, going and doing. Ministry is a verb more-so than a noun.
Join with us as we seek to share Jesus' amazing love with people locally, regionally, nationally, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
